A Season of Opportunity: 2024-2025 Presentation Night

Our Junior and Senior presentations were held on 11/04/2025, following a season described as a year of opportunity for our club. It was a season that affirmed our status as the premier cricket club in the Shoalhaven, as we were the only club in either the Shoalhaven or South Coast District to field teams across Stage 1, Stage 2, Stage 3, U19s, Four grades of Senior Cricket and the Ladies competition.
Senior Cricketer of the Year (Club Champion Player)
Our Senior Cricketer of the Year for 2024-2025 went to Anthea Godwin, who not only led the ladies team to a premiership in their inaugural season, but amassed an impressive 564 Runs (5x50s), 15 Wickets, 9 Catches and 1 Stumping.
Junior Cricketer of the Year
Our Junior Cricketer of the Year for 2024-2025 went to Katie Martin. Beyond the mighty Green and Gold, Katie represented Greater Illawarra in U16 Girls and U18 Girls, Illawarra Flames, Southern NSW U19 Girls and Southern Swans U18 Girls (Champions)!
Club Perpetuals and Other Awards
Across the club we celebrated great team and individual success. The winners of our perpetual and acknowledgement awards were as follows:

Woolworths Cricket Blast
Coaches Andy Wilson and Bradd Cuddy guided 11 participants through various batting, bowling and fielding drills. The group's abilities improved so much, but it was the growth of new friendships and a shared passion for cricket that held this lot together - well done all!
Stage 1 Awards
Coach Luke Bowden reflected on a huge first year of cricket for many in this team. We had multiple children well below the age cap who continued to give it all, all season. A great effort from Luke and the Stage 1 team who have developed great friendships, and we hope to see you all back next year.

Stage 2 Awards
Coach Elisha Moss spoke of the massive efforts made by our Stage 2 team, with most players stepping up to this level of cricket for the first time after playing Stage 1. We had multiple children who represented our club at District level in this team, highlighting their strength and commitment. A great effort from Elisha and the Stage 2 team who continue to grow, and we hope to see you all back next year.

Stage 3 Awards
Coach Amy Wagner recapped an emotional last year of Junior cricket for a number of players. We utilised a large squad this year, with competing commitments limiting how regularly the same players took the field. Stage 3 had some excellent highlights, and we are well prepared to bolster our Senior ranks next season.

Fourth Grade Awards
Captain and Life Member Craig Howsan spoke of the never-ending battles involved with fielding a fourth-grade side. Craig joined the season after a few rounds and beamed of the players' enjoyment of the game and efforts to have fun. Well done fourth grade.

Third Grade Awards
Captain Don Tharaka reflected on a courageous season for third grade, that included the club debut of many. Thirds had a rough start to the season, however, came home with a wet sail and made finals. Unfortunately, the semi-finals could not be played due to weather and the season ended there. Great season thirds.

Second Grade Awards
Travis Fuss reflected on the season on behalf of Captain Gary Fuss, recognising the high volume of players who represented second grade this year. Seconds went all the way to the grand final, however, were unable to bring home the trophy. Travis spoke of the friendships made this season and the enjoyment had by all.

First Grade Awards
Captain Mick Perry, spoke of the honour he had in leading the club's first grade team, after longstanding captain and life member Dan Gleeson stood down from this role. Mick reflected on a number of first grade debuts for our club and the strong future promoted as a result.

Ladies T20 Awards
Captain Anthea Godwin, spoke of the huge achievements this year, being the first Shoalhaven based club women's team. The girls went on to win the premiership and it was clear how much this meant to all of them. Anthea acknowledged the efforts of the whole team and volunteers in making history.
