Plenty of milestones for our club over the weekend as some winning streaks continued, while one Junior team celebrated their first victory. Another great round of cricket for the Ex-Servos Army!
Juniors
Stage 1 – Coming up against Ulladulla United White, our stage 1 team celebrated their first victory of the season. This was a great achievement for our very young side that batted first, with Ben Newing (13) hitting the first 6 of the season! He was well supported by Jash Talatiya (9) and Henry Bowden (7). Securing the victory, we displayed a great fielding effort to affect 5 run outs as Ben Newing continued to star with 2-3 from his 2 overs.
Stage 2 – North Nowra-Cambewarra batted first against our Stage 2 team, making 1-135 from 23 overs. Charles Meagher took the only wicket each before the attention turned towards our batting. Chasing this total was never going to be easy, and the team were bowled out for 56. Top scorers were Cooper Pitts (14) and Virat Rana (10).
Stage 3 – Had the bye.
Seniors
Womens – 2 in a row for our women who took away the win against Lake Illawarra. Lake batted first, setting 8-111 from their 20 overs for victory. Our ladies chased that total down with a ball to spare, as Anne Boatswain (53) raised the bat again and Allira Smith (19) helped the score along.
First Grade – Our First-grade team continued their winning ways to record a third victory in as many weeks. Batting first, we set 9-265 from 50 overs, highlighted by Aaron Van Essen's 99 and 66 to Mick Perry. The total proved too much for Bay and Basin who were dismissed for 212 thanks to the efforts of Roop Sharma (4-55) and James Godwin (3-40).
Second Grade - Had the bye.
Third Grade – Had the bye.
Fourth Grade – Our fourth-grade team went down in a tough battle against North-Nowra Cambewarra. Batting first, Norths set 6-221 to win from their 40 overs, as Ivan Bienasch, Jeremiah Galvin and Jake Mussig each took 2 wickets. Chasing the total was going to be difficult, however, the big efforts of brothers (pictured) Jeremiah (28) and Joel (74) Galvin saw the total reach 153 before we were dismissed.
